Sweet love: Romance in the air

Julie Caplin

The Little Brooklyn Bakery

QOTD: If you were to choose a place to spend your free time, would it be a coffee shop, bakery, tea shop, or any other place, what would you choose and why?
In the area my husband and I live, there are no little coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, or a place that would welcome you with the atmosphere and lure you in with good food and that hygge feeling.
To compensate for the lack of such places I fell in love with the little cozy and friendly bakery in Brooklyn where I've never been.
The book is a continuation of the previous book by @juliecaplinauthor - The Little Cafè in Copenhagen. Kate, a promising food journalist finds that her relationship with James was nothing she expected and jumps on the plane to work for the US version of her homeland journal. There she meets a man and as usual, nothing comes as easy as one would expect.
Exceptionally easy reading that lets your mind wander to interesting places with love and a little bit of spice on top. Can't wait for more Slovak translations so I will have a full series 😍

ROMANTIC ESCAPES

How to get a bakery and coffee shop to your home?
Make yourself a nice cup of coffee, get yourself a nice piece of cake, whether store-bought or homemade, take a book about coffee shops and bakeries to your reading nook, and enjoy the ambiance and the story which the author has prepared for you.

The Little Cafe in Copenhagen

QOTD: When was the last time you read a book within a day because it has been so captivating and it was Sunday?
It happened to me yesterday. I was and still am overwhelmed with work which I'd rather postpone to the last possible minute than take time during weekends and dedicate it to work unless planned ahead. So we slept in, I made us a nice breakfast, we had leftovers for lunch, and then, instead of opening a laptop and correcting the immense amount of assignments with the label "handed-in" I read. And I read, and read until it was 0:21 and I finished the book.
The book took me back to both London and Copenhagen where I had spent some lovely time with friends and family. I love how the book took you to places and attractions which are real and you can experience them yourself. (Once the restrictions and pandemic are somehow under control).
Easy Sunday reading which soothes your soul, has a captivating story with real-life characters and makes your mouth water by introducing you to the typical Danish cuisine. I just have to make myself some cinnamon rolls tomorrow.

Charlotte Lucas

If you want a really good happy ending, a story full of predictable events, something easy for soothing a hurting soul, something magical, just like a fairytale set in Germany, go ahead and dig yourself into either of these three books. There's a bonus, they have rounded edges
